Technical Downloads — H.E.A Batteries & Solar Systems
Welcome to the H.E.A Technical Downloads hub. Here you’ll find everything your installation and service teams need to deliver right‑first‑time outcomes: per‑model LiFePO₄ and Na+ battery datasheets, a field‑ready commissioning checklist, inverter setup guides, brand‑specific one‑pagers (including CAN‑bus pinouts), and a compact A6 quick‑reference card. Our current Residential Range covers 10.24, 16.08, 20.48, 40.96 and 51.2 kWh systems at 51.2 V, with clear limits for max/continuous charge & discharge, parallel capability (up to 15), BMS protections, dimensions/weights, and included accessories.
What you can download
- H.E.A Residential Battery Datasheets (per model) — 10 / 16 / 20 / 40 / 50 kWh at 51.2 V with full electrical, mechanical and service‑life details (≥ 8,000 cycles @ 80% DoD).
- H.E.A Sodium Ion Residential Battery Datasheets consolidated — 10 / 20 kWh at 49,6 V with full electrical, mechanical and service‑life details (≥ 8,000 cycles and 20 years @ 80% DoD).
- Commissioning Checklist — a step‑by‑step, operator‑grade sequence covering mechanical install, DC wiring, BMS comms, power‑up order, and acceptance tests. It also calls out Li‑BMS verification on Sunsynk/Deye and DVCC usage on Victron for closed‑loop control.
- Inverter Setup Guide (PYL protocol, 51.2 V) — concise instructions for Sunsynk/Deye, Victron (GX/DVCC), GoodWe, and SMA Sunny Island, with menu pointers and troubleshooting checks (firmware, protocol index, telemetry adoption).
- One‑Pagers (Brand‑specific) — single‑page field sheets for Sunsynk, Deye, Victron, GoodWe, SMA Sunny Island, Solis S6, and a JK BMS reference, each showing RJ45 CAN pinouts, colour mapping, and power‑up checks.
- A6 CAN‑bus Quick‑Reference Card — pocket card covering CAN‑H/CAN‑L pins for all supported inverters and JK BMS, using standard T‑568B colours.
CAN‑bus pinouts at a glance (RJ45, T‑568B colours)
Colour key: Pin 4 = Blue, Pin 5 = White/Blue (twisted pair).
| Platform | CAN‑H | CAN‑L | GND | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| H.E.A Battery (JK BMS reference) | Pin 4 | Pin 5 | Pin 6 | JK supports CAN 2.0A (typical 250 kbps) with selectable Pylontech/Deye/GoodWe/SMA profiles. |
| Sunsynk | Pin 4 | Pin 5 | — | Verify Li‑BMS page shows SOC/current limits; protocol often 00 for CAN. |
| Deye | Pin 4 | Pin 5 | — | CAN protocol 00; combined CAN/RS‑485 port on many models. |
| Victron (VE.Can on GX) | Pin 7 | Pin 8 | Pin 3 | Use Victron VE.Can↔Battery cable Type‑A/B or make to pinout; terminate bus. |
| GoodWe (ES/EM/SBP/ET/EH) | Pin 4 | Pin 5 | — | Straight‑through RJ45 between inverter CAN and battery CAN. |
| SMA Sunny Island (ComSync) | Pin 4 | Pin 5 | Pin 2 | SYNC pins 3/6 are inter‑inverter only; terminate CAN as per SMA manual. |
| Solis S6 (LV/HV) | Pin 4 (Blue) | Pin 5 (White/Blue) | — | Inverter‑side colours are explicitly documented by Solis S6 support. |
Best‑practice commissioning (what your team should verify)
-
Power‑up sequence: Battery ON → Inverter ON → Enable PV/Grid only after the inverter’s BMS page displays SOC and limits (CCL/DCL/CVL). This avoids open‑loop charging and protects cells. Closed‑loop control:
- Sunsynk/Deye: set Lithium battery type, capacity (Ah), and check Li‑BMS page; on Deye/Sunsynk, protocol “00” is commonly used for CAN.
- Victron: use a GX device (Cerbo/CCGX/Venus) and enable DVCC so the GX relays CVL/CCL/DCL to chargers and inverter/charger.
- GoodWe: confirm your battery is on the latest compatibility list and check minimum firmware levels.
- SMA Sunny Island: wire ComSync to CAN‑H/L (pins 4/5) and GND (pin 2); SYNC lines are not for BMS.
- H.E.A battery parameters: reference the datasheet for max/continuous charge & discharge currents, parallel limits, and service‑life.
Frequently asked questions
Q1. Which CAN protocol should I choose on the inverter?
A. For Sunsynk/Deye, CAN protocol “00” is commonly used; always confirm on the inverter’s firmware and ensure the Li‑BMS page shows live values.
On Victron, enable DVCC on the GX to operate in closed loop; Victron manages limits from the battery BMS over VE.Can.
On GoodWe, select your battery from the official GoodWe battery list and update firmware if telemetry is missing.
Q2. What are the CAN‑bus wire colours on RJ45?
A. Using T‑568B, Pin 4 = Blue (CAN‑H) and Pin 5 = White/Blue (CAN‑L); this mapping is used by Solis S6 in its official guidance and by most hybrid inverter brands.
A. In each H.E.A datasheet, covering 10.24–51.2 kWh units with 51.2 V nominal, ≥ 8,000 cycles @ 80% DoD, BMS protections, parallel up to 15, and included cabling/fuses.
